Being a Triathlete / Marathoner means using a lot of different muscles a lot of the time. That also means some sore muscles too. Since meeting Heidi I have been getting massages more regular, I have found it speeds my recovery and works out any kinks I have. Recently I came in to see Heidi with a injured calf, it had cramped up on me at mile 22 at the 2007 Tri Cities Marathon. My running came to a standstill. I had several other Marathons scheduled in the fall. With Heidi’s help I was able to get back to training in no time and I made it through my fall marathons just fine!
Thanks Heidi!

I injured my left hamstring during the middle of my triathlon season in 2006 and could not run for 5 months. I started seeing Heidi for 30 minutes each week beginning in December of 2007 as I started to build my mileage. She worked with me and I had a successful 2007 triathlon season - qualifying for and competing on Team USA for the Short Course Age Group World Championships in September in Germany and the Half Ironman World Championships in November in Florida. Two qualities that stand out and make Heidi an effective massage therapist are that she listens to her clients and where they are feeling pain or tightness and she also remembers your body and areas that needed attention from previous sessions. She also has a very positive attitude and calming disposition. I used to think of massage therapy as just a treat that I enjoyed once a year. I now know massage therapy is an integral part of my training and Heidi has kept me training hard and racing fast.

This can be especially helpful for athletes who expose their muscles to daily, intensive conditioning.
-
Deep tissue massage will noticeably loosen muscles, elevate pain, and increase mobility – all significant benefits for an athlete.
-
However, you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy the benefits of deep tissue massage.
